A Summary of Our Rental Conditions
- Your contract with us.
When you sign the hire agreement you accept the Terms and Conditions as set out in the rental agreement. Please read these carefully.
- Rental Period.
Our rental day is 24 hours. The hire can be extended, with our agreement, if you give notice that you wish to extend before your hire period expires. If the vehicle is not returned on time then you are breaking a condition of the agreement. We will charge you for every day or part day that you have the vehicle after the time that you should have returned it to us.
- Prohibited Uses.
The vehicle must only be driven by those named as drivers on the hire agreement or by anyone else that we authorise in writing.
You must not use the vehicle for:
a] hire or reward.
b] for any illegal purpose.
c] for towing.
d] for racing, rallying or pace making.
You will not take the vehicle outside the UK without our written consent.
- Payments.
Our charges are as per our current price list.
a] you will pay at the commencement of hire the total hire cost and, if taken, a Collision Damage Waiver fee. We will also take a refundable deposit by credit or debit card.
b] on return of the vehicle your deposit will be refunded; less any charges for loss or damage incurred to the amount of the stated excess and less any refuelling charge.
c] you are liable for all fines, penalties and charges relating to parking and road traffic offences as well as any charges arising from the seizure of the vehicle by Customs and Excise or Vehicle Inspectorate.
d] you are liable for our costs in recovering the vehicle should you fail to return it as agreed in the rental agreement.
- Your obligations.
a] you will take proper care of the vehicle and always ensure that it is used in a lawful and reasonable manner.
b] you must always lock the vehicle when not using it and must never leave the ignition keys in the vehicle when it is unattended.
c] you must return the vehicle to us during our opening hours.
d] you will be responsible for the costs of repair if the vehicle has been damaged whilst in you care. Any costs owing will be taken from your deposit.
e] you are responsible for any damage to the vehicle above cab height, as well as the windscreen, mirrors and tyres. These items are not covered by insurance.
f] you must not sell, rent or dispose of the vehicle or any of its parts.
g] you must not let anyone work on the vehicle without our permission.
h] you must, immediately, report to us any accident involving the vehicle, as well as any breakdown or fault.
- Our responsibilities.
a] we will take all steps to provide you with a well maintained and roadworthy vehicle.
b] when informed of a breakdown, we will see that the necessary repairs are carried out promptly, if possible.
c] if repairs cannot be carried out promptly we will endeavour to provide a substitute vehicle or allow you to terminate the hire.
d] we are not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss in respect of any breakdown or malfunction of the vehicle and to any property stored, transported or left in the vehicle.
- Insurance.
We have a legal responsibility to provide third party insurance. We provide cover for loss or damage to the vehicle but you will have to pay an amount up to the excess as stated on the hire agreement. The excess is £750 but this can be reduced to £100 by paying the Collision Damage Waiver fee. {CDW}.
- What to do if you have an accident.
a] obtain the names and addresses of those involved as well as any witnesses.
b] do not admit liability or guilt to any third party
c] do not abandon the vehicle without making it safe and secure
d] call the police immediately if there is injury or disagreement over who is responsible
e] call us immediately, we will provide an accident report form to be completed.
- Ending the agreement.
We may terminate the agreement if you commit any breach of the agreement or if any statements made by you prove to be incorrect.
We will also end the agreement;
a] if as an individual hirer, we will end the agreement immediately, if we find out that your belongings have been taken away from you to pay off your debts, or a receiving order has been made against you.
b] if as a company, we will end this agreement straight away if:
- You go into liquidation.
- You call a meeting of creditors.
- We find that your goods have been taken away from you until you pay off your debts; or
- You do not meet any of the conditions of this agreement.
c] if we end this agreement it will not affect our right to receive any
money we are owed under the conditions of this agreement. We can
also claim reasonable costs from you if you do not meet any of the
conditions of this agreement. We can repossess the vehicle [and charge you a reasonable amount] without using unreasonable force or causing damage.
